Coca-Cola has brought back its popular personalized name bottles in Kenya, sparking excitement among fans of the iconic soft drink.
The campaign, famously known as “Share a Coke,” allows customers to purchase Coca-Cola bottles featuring common Kenyan names, nicknames, and local expressions printed on the label. This return taps into the nostalgia of a marketing strategy that first captured global attention years ago—and became a viral hit locally.
Supermarket shelves and roadside kiosks across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and other towns are already seeing a wave of name-labeled bottles. Kenyans are once again searching for bottles with their names, their friends' names, or even phrases like “Bestie,” “Mzae,” “Bae,” or “Champ.”
Coca-Cola says the move is part of a wider push to reconnect with consumers on a more personal level and encourage sharing moments with loved ones—especially as more people celebrate events and social gatherings during the warmer months.
If you spot your name on a bottle, it might just be the perfect excuse to “share a Coke” with someone special.
