Homemade Chicken Tortilla Wraps Becoming a Kitchen Staple

As busy lifestyles push people to seek quicker, healthier meal options, the classic chicken tortilla wrap is making a strong comeback in home kitchens across the country.
Food bloggers, chefs, and nutritionists alike are praising the dish for its versatility, convenience, and flavor.
Often described as a “complete meal in a wrap,” the chicken tortilla wrap typically includes grilled or shredded chicken, crisp vegetables, cheese, and sauces, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla.
The dish has gained popularity on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where short cooking videos showcase countless variations, from spicy peri-peri wraps to low-carb lettuce alternatives.
Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless)
1 tsp olive oil/ Vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
1 garlic clove (minced) or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
4 large flour tortillas
1 cup lettuce (shredded)
1 tomato (diced)
1/2 onion (sliced, optional)
1/2 cup cucumber (sliced or chopped)
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
1/4 cup mayonnaise or sour cream
2 tbsp ketchup, mustard, or hot sauce (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1
Cook the chicken:
Cut chicken into strips or cubes.
Step 2
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Then add chicken, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic.
Cook for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
Step 3
Warm the tortillas:
Heat each tortilla in a dry pan or microwave for 10–15 seconds until soft.
Step 4
Assemble the wraps:
Lay a tortilla flat then spread mayonnaise or your chosen sauce in the center. Layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, and cheese.
Step 5
Add the cooked chicken on top and wrap it up.
Fold the sides in, then roll the bottom up tightly to form a wrap.
Optional: Toast the wrap:
Lightly toast the wrap in a pan for 1–2 minutes per side for a crisp finish.
