Samsung has officially unveiled its latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, at a media event on Monday. As the latest addition to the Galaxy S25 family, the S25 Edge is making waves for its ultra-thin design, packing flagship specs into one of the slimmest phones in recent memory.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is priced at $1,099 and is available for preorder from Samsung, Amazon, and Best Buy, with Samsung offering a $50 discount along with 256GB of bonus storage. The phone will officially hit the shelves on May 30, and is expected to turn heads with its unique design philosophy.

While the S25 Edge shares many similarities with other Galaxy S25 models, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, 12GB of RAM, and impressive camera features, its defining feature is its strikingly thin form factor. With a thickness of just 5.8mm, the S25 Edge is noticeably slimmer than the standard Galaxy S25 (7.2mm), and even outdoes the bulkier Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Key specifications include:

6.7-inch AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate

200MP wide rear lens

12MP ultra-wide rear lens

12MP selfie camera

3,900mAh battery (slightly smaller than the base S25's 4,000mAh battery)

The phone may not offer the same extensive features as the S25 Ultra—such as the 50MP ultra-wide lens or the telephoto lens—but it does provide comparable core features. Notably, the S25 Edge retains the 200MP main rear lens found in the Ultra, bringing high-end photography to a more compact device.

What sets the S25 Edge apart, however, is the physical experience. Weighing in at just 163g, it is noticeably lighter and more comfortable to hold compared to other premium phones, without sacrificing power. The lightweight, slim profile allows for easy one-handed usage, a refreshing change from the increasingly large and bulky smartphones on the market.

Samsung’s AI features and software parity with other S25 phones ensure that the S25 Edge delivers a cutting-edge smartphone experience, with no compromise on performance.

Hands-on Impressions:

At first glance and touch, the S25 Edge feels incredibly sleek, and its slim design immediately stands out. While the smaller 3,900mAh battery may raise concerns about battery life, it will be interesting to see how the phone performs with more in-depth testing.

For those nostalgic for smaller, more compact phones that don’t skimp on features, the Galaxy S25 Edge seems poised to be a top contender in the flagship smartphone market. Whether you prioritize a sleek design or just want a more manageable phone without compromising on performance, the S25 Edge could be the right fit for you.

Preorder now and be one of the first to experience the Galaxy S25 Edge starting May 30.
