Well, first things first, you might want to know what is sparkling water. Well, it is simply normal water that has been infused with carbon dioxide gas, under pressure.

This then produces the bubbly or fizzy effect on the drink.

Sparkling water is also Carbonated water (also known as soda water, bubbly water, sparkling water, fizzy water, club soda, water with gas, and in many places mineral water.

Sparkling water is a healthier substitute for drinking soda and is preferred by those who don’t like the taste of normal water.

The good thing about it is that it also comes in different flavors that can be incorporated, into the drink like passionfruit, pineapple, strawberry, and even kiwi-lemon and so many other flavors.

Although some may find it extremely tasty, well, it is not everyone’s cup of tea.

´” The first time I tried sparkling water, it was so disgusting!” Kenneth Kamau told Blue Space on Monday.

“I do not understand why it is hyped so much, I prefer still water, something that is normal.”

Another thing you might want to know is drinking sparkling water, may not quench your thirst per say and it may leave you craving.

This is because the carbonation has the added effect of blunting the sweetness just enough to increase cravings and leave you wanting more.

Another big reason people drink sparkling water is its potential to aid digestion although for others it may be just preference or hype.

For many individuals, the bubbles in carbonated water can help alleviate abdominal discomfort, such as bloating or indigestion, by prompting burping which in turn reduces stomach gas.

However, drinking it in moderation is key, because Sparkling water is slightly acidic.

The drink is infused with carbon dioxide to make it bubbly.

The acids in these carbonated drinks can and will erode your tooth enamel over time.

That process is sped up if you ingest carbonated drinks often, especially if it's on a daily basis. Some studies have found that teenagers drink as much as up to 12 soft drinks a day.

Be sure to check the nutrition label of a sparkling water can, zeros jump out everywhere: zero sugar, zero calories, and zero artificial flavouring.

Even though still and sparkling water may look the same on paper, sparkling water still isn’t as healthy.

Well, is it worth the hype? Yes and No, it all narrows down to preference.
