WhatsApp is rolling out exciting new features in its latest beta updates, including draft message search, customizable avatar profiles, and enhanced media quality options.
These additions aim to improve user experience and offer more personalization and control.
Draft Message Search
One of the standout features in testing is the ability to search through draft messages.
Currently, if users save a draft and exit a chat, they must manually locate the conversation to resume typing.
The new search function will allow users to quickly find unsent drafts, streamlining communication.
Avatar Profiles
Following Meta’s push for digital identity integration, WhatsApp is testing avatar profiles.
Users will be able to create personalized avatars—similar to those on Facebook and Instagram—to use as profile pictures or in stickers.
This feature could enhance privacy while maintaining expressive interactions.
Media Quality Control
WhatsApp is also refining media-sharing options by introducing more granular quality settings.
Users may soon select preferred upload quality (standard or HD) before sending photos and videos, addressing long-standing complaints about compression.
This follows previous updates that allowed HD media sharing but lacked customization.
Beta Testing and Rollout
These features are currently available to select beta testers on Android and iOS, with a broader release expected in the coming months.
WhatsApp continues to experiment with new tools, including AI-powered chat enhancements and advanced group management options.
As competition in messaging apps grows, WhatsApp’s latest updates demonstrate its commitment to innovation while maintaining its user-friendly approach.
Stay tuned for official announcements as these features move closer to public release.
