Meta is set to enhance user interaction on WhatsApp by introducing a new feature that allows users to react to messages using stickers. This development builds upon the emoji reactions feature introduced in December 2024, offering a more expressive and personalized way to engage in conversations.

How It Works

The upcoming sticker reactions feature will enable users to select any sticker from their collection, including those from WhatsApp’s official Sticker Store, third-party stickers imported through external apps, and previously saved stickers. This functionality aims to provide a broader and more expressive range of responses to messages and media.

To use the feature, users can long-press a message to open the reaction tray, which will now include stickers alongside emojis. This update is currently in beta testing for Android devices and is expected to roll out to iOS devices in the near future.

Enhanced User Experience

By incorporating sticker reactions, WhatsApp aims to enrich user experience by allowing more personalized responses. Stickers can offer a broader range of expressions, from humorous reactions to heartfelt ones, making conversations feel more dynamic and engaging. This feature is particularly useful in scenarios where emojis might fall short in conveying a more specific emotion or feeling.

Availability

The sticker reactions feature is currently under development and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks. WhatsApp continues to test and refine the feature to ensure a seamless and enjoyable user experience upon its official release.

For more information and updates on this feature, users can visit WhatsApp's official blog or follow the app's update notifications.
